On Tuesday October 9, 2018, Edmonson County High School held a kickoff event for the new Olweus campaign against bullying. All students observed a realistic skit performed by ECHS Drama students that portrayed a scenario of a bullying situation. ECHS students participated in several fun activities and games in the gymnasium, and listened while the Olweus program was introduced during a slide presentation in the auditorium. Olweus class meetings with students will occur twice monthly for the development of positive citizenship and positive behaviors against bullying. A huge “Thank You” for everyone that worked to make the kickoff a success!

Dalton Curtis, from Boy Scout Troop #597, has earned Eagle Rank Status. Boy Scouts can earn the status of Eagle Rank by being active in the troop for a period of at least six months after achieving the rank of Life Scout, demonstrating daily living by the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law, earning twenty-one merit badges, and completing a community project. Dalton’s community project was the building and creation of a message board at his church. Only four percent of Scouts nationwide receive Eagle Scout status. Dalton is the first scout from Troop #597 to achieve Eagle Rank status. Congratulations Dalton!
